Blue Label is a dark brown ale made from hops, malt and yeast. It was introduced by Farsons Ltd. as one of their first beers in 1928. The popular ale won several international awards since its first accreditation in 1952. The long-standing 3.3% Blue Label was replaced by a stronger 4.7% ale in 2016 when it was subtitled as Original Amber Ale. A large variety of bottles, crowns, labels and eventually cans, were utilised over the years, accompanied by adverts and promotional merchandise. The scope of this page is to illustrate such material through the items held in our collection.
