Trufrut was a carbonated soft drink range made from Oranges or Tangerines, sugar and purified water. Trufrut beverages were introduced by Portanier Bros. Ltd. in the 1950s.1 This was the latest progression of the firm's fruit-based drinks which included Portanier's Orange Squash and Portanier's Grape-Fruit, registered in 1930 and 1937 respectively. Another predecessor to Trufrut was sold as Portanier's High Class Orange. We are still corroborating information concerning these and other beverages made by this firm.

Notes & References 1. The Trufruit Trade-Mark was patented by the Trufruit Syrup Corporation of New York in 1929 and 1945. We are still verifying whether there is any link between the American firm / product and Portanier's similarly named drinks.
